Welcome to the Green Mountain State!

As an adventure elopement photographer, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to capture some of the most intimate and breathtaking moments for couples choosing to elope in Vermont. If you’re considering eloping in this enchanting state, let me guide you through the essentials to ensure your day is as magical as your love story.

Why Choose Vermont?

Vermont, known for its stunning natural landscapes, offers an idyllic backdrop for your elopement. From the serene Lake Champlain shores to the majestic Green Mountains, every corner of this state promises a picturesque setting for your special day.

Step 1: Choose Your Perfect Spot

Vermont is rich in scenic locations. Whether you’re drawn to a lakeside ceremony at sunset or exchanging vows atop Mount Mansfield, there’s a spot that’s perfect for you. As your photographer, I’m here to help scout these locations, considering factors like accessibility, lighting, and privacy. With the diversity of the landscape and amazing New England towns, planning an all day elopement experience can easily be curated from sun up to all hours of the night. During the planning process, I help my couple’s develop their own amazing story and timeline details.

Step 2: Know the Legalities

Before you get caught up in the romance, let’s talk logistics. In Vermont, you don’t need a witness, and the marriage license process is straightforward. You can obtain your license from any town clerk in the state, and it’s valid for 60 days. Remember, there’s no waiting period in Vermont, so you could technically get your license and marry on the same day! There are some amazing JP or officiants within our state – And I would be thrilled to recommend them for all your elopement ceremony needs. I myself am also ordained and can help develop an intimate ceremony that speaks to you as a couple.

Step 3: Plan Your Day

Your elopement should reflect your personalities. Whether it’s a hike to a secluded spot, a quiet ceremony in a cozy inn, or a snow-covered vow exchange, plan activities that mean the most to you. As for attire, consider the terrain and weather. Comfortable yet elegant attire works best, especially if you’re venturing into nature. My couples love to add diversity to their elopement experiences, so it’s not unusual to go on a sunrise hike in the AM, meet loved ones for a celebration focused lunch, go sail boating in the evening and then hit up a romantic evening spot where we capture their romance against the backdrop of Lake Champlain. Our small town charm can be elevated with so many amazing and epic experiences – it’s my passion to help walk you through potential experiences that work for your day.

Step 4: Capture Every Moment

As an adventure elopement photographer, my role extends beyond taking photos. I’m here to help you plan the timing of your day, considering the best light for your photographs. I’ll capture the candid moments, the breathtaking scenery, and the intimate glances – all the elements that make your elopement uniquely yours. We also will have a totally amazing time together – something that I want my couples to consider when choosing their photographer or other elopement vendors. Because it’s such an intimate day, surrounding yourself with people you vibe with is really important. Your day’s energy is so important to protect and focus on.

Step 5: Celebrate Post-Elopement

After the “I do’s,” consider how you’d like to celebrate. A romantic dinner at a local Vermont restaurant, a campfire under the stars, or a stay in a charming bed and breakfast can be the perfect end to your extraordinary day. For my dare devil clients, snowboarding, helicopter rides and axe throwing are also big favorites. I am here to capture it all.

Final Thoughts

Eloping in Vermont offers a blend of adventure, intimacy, and natural beauty. It’s about creating a day that’s truly about you and your partner. As your photographer, I’m here to ensure that every emotion, landscape, and unseen moment is beautifully captured, telling the story of your elopement in a way that’s as unique as your love.

Remember, your elopement is an adventure of a lifetime, and Vermont is the perfect canvas to paint your love story. Let’s create something beautiful together!
