Congratulations to Brianna and Richard this past weekend on their wedding! The couple wed in a small ceremony at the Green Mountain Inn (Stowe, Vermont).

Brianna and Richard wed 2.18.2024 in the historic Green Mountain Inn (Stowe, VT). The Inn has a beautiful main building with multiple houses and hotel style rooms throughout the campus. In traditional New England style Inns, The Green Mountain has a warm and cosy atmosphere, with a library, sun room and lovely restaurant for it’s guests. Stowe Vermont, primarily a ski resort town, offers beautiful mountain views of Mount Mansfield, as well as the gorgeous storybook Stowe downtown, with it’s famous White Chapel peeking above the town skyline.

Brianna and Richard’s guests enjoyed the warmth of the Inn and their rooms with four post beds, fire places and warm decor. The Inn is perfect for intimate weddings (guest counts under 100) or for lodging options for guests who will be attending larger events in the area). The Whip is the Inn’s restaurant that serves upscale pub and artisanal favorites.

What I love about the Inn as an Intimate Wedding Photographer?

1. The campus allows for wedding guests to all stay at the same location – When working with the couple’s wedding party, I was able to walk from the Bridal Suite to the Groom’s getting ready location with ease. For the guests who needed special accommodations, it was easy for them to either drive and park, or use the Inn’s smaller transport ATVs.
2. The Inn’s staircases – for dramatic photos of the couple and their loved ones. If couple’s want a more royal vibe, the staircases offer wedding dress trains the perfect location to showcase the length of a dress.
3. The main building offered a dining room that could easily offer accommodations for 80 guests with there set up. The library and Sun Room also offer interesting photo opps for smaller wedding parties.
4. Location, Location, Location! I love Stowe (I myself eloped on the Rec path just outside of town). From the main street small time vibes to the gorgeous mountain trails close by, this is an awesome location for couples who want to enjoy an intimate wedding or elopement.
5. A year round heated outdoor pool for comfort and a change of pace for those coming off the slopes.

5. Local wedding vendors – Stowe is the center of great talent! Within a 20 mile radius of Stowe, Vermont, you can find multiple Florists, Photographers, Venues, DJ’s and Catering Companies. You can also find a large amount of Day Spas and other beauty focused businesses. This allowing for it to be easy to plan a large or small event, without the headache of traveling too far outside of the Stowe Area. It also makes it easy for guests to enjoy Vermont’s local attractions easily, as well as offering a ton of opportunities for them to stay at local hotels, Inns and Air BNBs.

Where to take your elopement or wedding photos near Stowe, Vermont?

1. Stowe’s Rec Path – As said before, using the Stowe rec path is a great option to use for wedding or elopement photos. From woods, rivers, bridges, mountain views, horse pasture/farm, coach rides and a gorgeous gazebo, it’s a fantastic walk year round. The path starts in town (showcasing the gorgeous skyline of the White Church Steeple) and going towards Mount Mansfield.
2. Sunset Rock – giving a great bird’s eye view of historical main street
3. Sterling Pond Trail
4. Stowe Pinnacle – totally fantastic for moderate climbers and adventure couple’s who want amazing views and photo opts.
5. Cold Hollow Apple Orchard – A great place in the fall to enjoy the aesthetic of Vermont Autumn.
6. Mount Elmore State Park – One of my favorite places to hike and swim during the summer months, it offers a diverse photo ops, all while giving guest the option of taking it easy or hitting the trails for a sweat. There are some really gorgeous photo ops too.
