I WANTED TO SHOWCASE SPECIFIC VENDORS WHO GAVE MY COUPLES INTIMATE & LUXURY EXPERIENCES. PLEASE KEEP A LOOK OUT FOR MONTHLY EMAILS REGARDING THESE AMAZING PEOPLE AND SMALL BUSINESSES.

This month – Greg Trulson (Vermont Justice of the Peace) is in the spotlight!

Greg Trulson is a fantastic person, full of warmth, passion and attention to detail when it comes to representing couple’s on their wedding day. I had the pleasure of photographing him in action this past summer at Lake Bomoseen Lodge during one of my favorite couple’s wedding (Haya & David).

Greg not only moved guests (and the photographer) to tears through touching and personal stories of the couple, but he also was able to create a captivating wedding ceremony, that held everyones attention.

As someone who has invested in years of public speaking training – I will say, Greg is the best of the best. From creating relationships with his couples, to working with some of the greatest venues in Vermont, please connect with him for your Officiant/ Justice of the Peace needs.

He truly is a Master of Ceremonies!

For those of you who are in the planning process and going back and fourth on who to have officiate your ceremony (no matter large, small or eloping). From serving over 50 couples at this point in my career, I want to encourage you to hire a professional vs. having someone just fill out an online licence and take some notes on their phone:

  1. Public speaking is hard for the 90% of people you know. Professional JP’s or officiants are masters of their crafts – they understand flow, tempo, emotion, storytelling and over all ceremony etiquette (regardless of how laid back your event is).
  2. I have witnessed many weddings where couple’s have asked their loved ones to take the reins on the ceremony. Their loved one showed up with crinkled papers, a cell phone with notes on it, or worse, they tried to remember 30 mins of a ceremony. Bless their hearts, but these moments always end in the following: – Guests are distracted – ceremonies are rushed – lots of cringe worthy Umms & filler words – story telling goes off the rails – the focus isn’t on the couples because of show boating – The flow of the ceremony tanks, etc.
  3. The couple has only photos of their officiant in the background while kissing (have them step aside!).
  4. The loved one who has been tasked with marrying you isn’t able to enjoy the day or be in the moment, rather, they are sweating bullets trying to give it their all.
